Mommy and Me! (18mn - 3 years)
(Parent/Guardian + Child)
This class is a wonderful introduction to dance and movement for both girls and boys. Children start with 15 minutes of structured free play giving them a chance to warm up and get comfortable with each other as well as the instructor. Followed by 30 minutes full of music, rhymes, creative movement, and imagery dances. Stories, costumes, props, and a wide variety of music all add to the fun.
Fairy Ballet! (3 - 5 years) No previous training required. This class focuses on ballet technique through creative teaching techniques and dancing fairytale stories. Using their imagination, students enter magical worlds through weekly stories enhanced by music, costumes and props that encourage their imaginative participation. Little do they know that age appropriate dance skills are integrated readying them for later formal instruction. This class develops and nurtures creativity, coordination, and self-esteem through playful warm-ups, dance activities, improvisation, and directed story dances. This class is normally completed in 2 years. If a child just recently turned 3 years, please contact us, to do a trail in the class. If a start in Fairy Ballet in Spring Term is possible, depends on the level and age and if it works with the existing group. We recommmend a start in the Fall term.
Princess Ballet (5- 6 years) This class is the next level after Fairy Ballet. If your child has not completed two years of Fairy Ballet we will schedule a trial lesson to see which class would be the best fit for your dancers. In this class students focus more on learning ballet technique while still enjoying the fun of stories, dress up and fun ballet dances. Through their imagination, children learn dance steps without even realizing it! This class develops creativity, coordination, and self-esteem through playful warm ups, dance activities, improvisation, and directed story dances. Costumes, props, and a wide variety of music are all included. This class is normally completed in two years.
Ballet 1 (7 - 9 years) This class is the next level after Princess Ballet. If your child has not completed two years of Princess Ballet we will schedule a trial lesson to see which class would be the best fit for your dancers. In this class students start training weekly at the ballet barre and further their study of ballet technique. By participating in the first levels of traditional ballet training, students learn concentration and endurance and become proficient in fundamental dance movement and ballet technique. Ballet uniform is required for this class.
Ballet 2 (9-11 years) This class is the next level after Ballet 1. If your child has not completed two years of Ballet 1 we will schedule a trial lesson to see which class would be the best fit for your dancers. In this class students continue training weekly at the ballet barre and further their study of ballet technique. By participating in the second levels of traditional ballet training, students learn concentration and endurance and become proficient in fundamental dance movement and ballet technique. Ballet uniform is required for this class.
Hip Hop Kids 1 (4-6 years) and 2 (6-8)
No previous training required. This class will get the dancers on their feet and bopping to the beat. The class begins with a warm up that includes stretching, learning to find the rhythm and beat in the music and following basic choreography directions. Kids who love popular and upbeat music will love this class. We will discover our own personal rhythm while learning classic hip hop moves and experimenting with freestyle. Every week we will work on short choreography pieces that they will be sure to perform for you once they hear their song on the radio! This class is pure fun!
Dance Mix (6-8) and (12-19 years) Learn the steps of the stars in their music videos through choreographies. The focus of this class is to build a solid foundation to perform popular dance moves to original choreographies. In order to develop an awareness of the possible body movements, the muscles required for this are trained separately and in isolation. Move, groove, sweat and learn the basics of different techniques from ballet, modern dance, jazz, hip hop, street dance and house. At the same time, musicality and performance techniques are to be improved.
Musical Theatre (7-10 years) This 60 minute class combines dancing, acting and singing. The beginning of class includes vocal warm ups, stretching and improvisation exercises. The class will expose students to a variety of classical musical theater songs and shows, including popular new musical movie hits they know and love. During every class we will work on a stage ready choreography number that will stretch their singing and dancing skills. Students will also learn stage confidence, script reading and audition skills.
Tap Kids (9-13) Tap is a fun style of dance often seen in old movies from the 1920s but we also dance to pop and hip hop!! With tap shoes dancers are able to make rhythmic sounds while dancing . No previous training is required for Tap 1 class.
Jazz Kids (9-13) Jazz dance combines the elements of classical ballet with various jazz and modern dance techniques. In this class the Kids get to know the foudnation of Jazz Dance, like rotation techniques, jump combinations, conscious use of the body and learn from the center of the body the movement sequences generated by isolation, from which the dance choreographies arise.
Barre Concept (Adults) Ballet-Barre workout with elements from Ballet, Pilates, Yoga and Body Forming. Bodyshaping, Fatburning, muscle workout and better flexibility für your Body. With lots of good and fun music, it makes it the perfect workout for everybody! You will get a defined and strong body if you do it on a regular basic.
Balance & Tone (Adults) In this class we combine element s of Thai-Chi, Pilates, Yoga and Balance exercise. this class helps improve flexibility, build strength and leave you feeling relaxed and calm.
Dance Fitness (Adult)
This fitness class is for dancers of all levels: from an absolute beginner who would love to learn to dance to a seasoned dancer who wants a conditioning class during the week. If you love to dance, want to build strength and flexibility this class is for you!
Pilates (Adults) Pilates is a full body workout that is gentle and intense at the same time. The focus of Pilates is on strengthening the core of the body: the abdominal, pelvic floor and back muscles.
Zumba (Adults) Zumba is physical exercise in disguise!! It's a fitness party! It's perfect for everybody and every body! We take the "work" out of work-out, by mixing low-intensity and high-intensity movements for an integral-style, calorie-burning, dance-fitness party. A total work-out that combines all key elements of fitness: cardio, muscle conditioning, balance, flexibility, and boosted energy, while also having lots of fun!
Traditional Indian Dance (Kids & Adult) Kathak, an Indian classical dance from North India, is an art of storytelling. It is rooted in “Natya Shastra”, going back almost 2000 years in history, originating in the temples of North India and then flourishing in Mughal courts. Stylistically, Kathak emphasizes on rhythmic footwork, delicate hand movements, subtle face expressions and fast pirouettes ending in a graceful stance.
